Completion of IFC Bridge Project

Since 2017 we are working together with Ruhr University Bochum, Technischen University Munich and planen bauen 4.0 GmbH to develop the international IFC Bridge Standard with particular focus on German data exchange requirements. This project has been funded by the Federal Ministry for Transport and Digital Infrastructure. The final results are presented on Friday, 14.06.2019, in Berlin.

AEC3 is partner in TPF-5 “BIM for Bridges and Structures”

Work continous – first prototype implementation in software will be supported by upcoming IFC Bridge Deployment Program within buildingSMART International. Also other countries work further based on this international standard and adds local model view definitions for particular workflows. In USA the TPF-5 “BIM for Bridges and Structures” project has started and we are proud to be a partner of the winning team led by HDR.

BIMQ to provide an IFC and ASB-Ing compatible catalogue

We currently work to provide a data exchange requirement definition based on IFC and the German guideline for bridge maintainance information ASB-Ing to the market, that would allow to use the IFC exchange format together with classification and attribution based on local requirements. This catalogue, provided as an information exchange template within BIMQ, would allow users to provide the relevant information for the bridge operation phase and could be the baseline for such agreements within an Employers Information Requirement or BIM Execution Plan.
